about

This is the second single to be released from my upcoming album.
I wrote Everything We Know from the starting point of a new relationship with a lens to the future. It ponders the fragility of new love and its inevitable future peaks and troughs. It reflects hope and trust and the courage to remain open (again!) to the unknown.
And then we broke up...ha!

lyrics

EVERYTHING WE KNOW

This won’t be here forever
No two stay still together
And we will be far from everything that we know today
But if we hold the day proudly
And if we dare love loudly
We can be sure that there’ll be things left we can name

No, we won’t stay here forever babe
We’ll wake up from the dreaming
But I hope to hold on when the storm blows through our home
I won’t have all the right words
Some days be far from hearing
And I might not see when clouds come falling down
Haunting you, but here we are

I’ve been travelling far, always seeking more
Wondering how I can take you with me
But I know well that there are things that come and things that go
And what I make might not be mine to keep

So we know the truth now cos we’ve been through a few things
We’ve dived for pearls in between the years
And we’ve been far from everything that we know today
You won’t have all the right words
Some days be far from hearing
And you might not see when clouds come falling down
Haunting me
Falling down, but here we are
